Riverdale and Stranger Things actress Shannon Purser to attend Windsor ComiCon 2019

Windsor ComiCon Welcomes Shannon Purser its 2019 Guest Line-Up.

Windsor, ON. Windsor ComiCon is pleased to welcome American actress, Shannon Purser to its 2019 Guest line-up.

Purser portrays Ethel Muggs in The CW‘s teen drama series Riverdale. She is a character based off the Archie Comics’ one; a Riverdale High School student who made her 1^st appearance in Archie’s Pal Jughead #84 (May, 1962). Prior to Riverdale, Purser made her acting debut in the Netflix science fiction drama series Stranger Things. She portrayed the character Barbara Holland, an intelligent and outspoken girl, who is the best friend of Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer). Despite her only being a minor character, several outlets called Barb one of their favorite characters.

Star Wars Return of the Jedi’s Boba Fett Dickey Beer to attend Windsor ComiCon 2019

BOBA FETT TO INVADE THE COLOSSEUM
Windsor ComiCon welcomes Dickey Beer to its guest line-up for 2019.

Windsor, ON. Windsor ComiCon is pleased to announce its next major guest of the 2019 season through actor, stunt performer, coordinator and producer, Dickey Beer.

Best known for his work on Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983), Beer portrayed several roles during the movie; more notably as the iconic bounty hunter Boba Fett who fought in all the battles scenes, which propelled him into cult status worldwide. He was also Luke Skywalker in a variety of action scenes while portraying the characters of Barada, Sergeant Junkin, a Stormtrooper, a Gamorrean Guard and a Biker Scout during this epic movie.

Going beyond the Star Wars Universe in a galaxy not so far away, Beer served as a stunt double, stunt coordinator, second unit director and assistant director for a variety of movies including but not limited to: A Bridge Too Far (1977), Superman III (1983), Krull (1983), Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), Dune (1984), Supergirl (1984), Rambo III (1988), Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade (1989), Total Recall (1990), Cliffhanger (1993), Cutthroat Island (1995), Starship Troopers (1997), Terminator 3 (2003), Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life (2003), Hancock (2008), Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011), The Bourne Legacy (20012), Need for Speed (2014), xXx: Return of Xander Cage (2017) through to The Inhumans TV Series (2017) and more recently Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) and the upcoming Wonder Women 2 “Wonder Woman 1984” (scheduled for release in 2020).

Finally, Beer worked on several James Bond Films ranging from Never Say Never Again (1983), A View to A Kill (1985) through to Tomorrow Never Dies (1997).

Mortal Kombat’s DANIEL PESINA to attend Windsor ComiCon 2019

Mortal Kombat’s Johnny Cage, Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Reptile and Smoke Head to Windsor via Daniel Pesina.

Windsor, ON. Windsor ComiCon is pleased to welcome American martial arts expert and actor, Daniel Pesina.

Known by fans worldwide through his direct involvement with the revolutionary Mortal Kombat series, Pesina portrayed several memorable characters, which include Johnny Cage, Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Reptile, Smoke and (at the time, an unplayable character) Noob Saibot via Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat II.

In an industry where creative leads stayed behind the scenes, in-game Actors like Pesina found cult success through screen capture “grabs” (considered revolutionary at that time), which would record live-action fighting movements that were directly incorporated into the game.

Pesina would go on to appear on the covers of magazines like Time and VideoGames while guest starring on UK’s Gamemaster. He also appeared as one of Shredder’s Foot Soldiers in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Secret of the Ooze (1991).

“As Johnny Cage, Pesina became an immediate star and main character of the Mortal Kombat franchise,” says President Colin Douglas. “We are excited to welcome him to the show this Fall.”

“Showing up as the first fighter on the character select with his image stretched across the arcade cabinet along with Sub-Zero and Scorpion made fans and I drop buckets of quarters at Fast Eddy’s back in the day while screaming GET OVER HERE!” says General Manager, Jeremy Renaud.

Since its inception, Mortal Kombat has spanned over 18 fighting games and three non-fighting games, two theatrical films, and endless extended universe of comic book literature. The original Mortal Kombat is one of gaming’s most influential titles ever.

Red Power Ranger AUSTIN ST. JOHN to attend Windsor ComiCon 2019

Windsor ComiCon Welcomes Austin St. John, The Original Red Power Ranger to its 2019 Guest Line-Up.

Windsor, ON. Windsor ComiCon is pleased to welcome American actor and martial artist Austin St. John to its 2019 Guest Line-Up.

St. John portrayed Jason Lee Scott, the original Red Ranger in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series. He is the team’s leader and key protagonist of the hit Fox Kids series, which debuted in 1993 that had led the Rangers to multiple victories.

St. John would go on to star in 79 episodes of the original series before taking on the mantle of the Gold Zeo Ranger in Power Rangers: Zeo where he appeared in another 17 episodes. He also starred in Power Rangers: The Lost Episode (1999) and Power Rangers: Wild Force (2002) again as the Red Power Ranger; and is currently in pre-production for Power Rangers: Beast Morphers, which will be released in 2020.

In addition to the various television series’, St. John appeared as Jason Lee Scott in Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie (1997) while lending his voice to Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid (2019) video game.

St. John’s character Jason Lee Scott, is often considered by fans to be the best Red Ranger and the best Power Ranger ever, and in a contest run by ABC Family in 2004, Jason was voted the best Power Ranger of all time (source: https://tinyurl.com/y53252rt).
