LEGENDARY BLADE, NOVA, BLACK CAT AND MODERN TEEN TITANS CREATOR HEADS TO WINDSOR
Windsor ComiCon welcomes Marv Wolfman to its comic guest line-up for 2018.
Windsor, ON. Windsor ComiCon is pleased to announce its next major comic guest for the 2018 season through American comic book writer, Marv Wolfman.
Best known for his work on Marvel Comic’s The Tomb of Dracula, Wolfman created the vampire-slayer Blade with artist Gene Colan in 1973. Later on in the 70s, Wolfman co-created Bullseye in Daredevil and then went on to create Nova with John Buscema in the character’s own series. After this time, both he and artist Carmine Infantino would team-up on the Spider-Woman series where he redesigned the lead character by giving her a human identity as Jessica Drew. Later, Wolfman succeeded Len Wein as writer of The Amazing Spider-Man and in his first issue (#182) had Peter Parker propose to Mary Jane Watson before teaming-up with Keith Pollard to introduce the Black Cat (Felicia Hardy) in The Amazing Spider-Man #194.
During the 80s, Wolfman was at the helm at DC. Having teamed up with penciller George Pérez, the duo relaunched DC’s Teen Titans (in DC Comics Presents #126) and created Raven, Starfire and Cyborg. In 1985, the pair launched Crisis on Infinite Earths, a 12-issue limited series celebrating DC’s 50th Anniversary that featured a cast of thousands of heroes and a timeline that ranged from the beginning of the Universe to the end of time to re-write and streamline the amalgamated companies history. After finishing, Wolfman-Pérez produced the History of the DC Universe to summarize the company’s new history.
Finally, in the 90s, Wolfman worked on a brief run on Batman and Detective Comics all while creating Robin III (Tim Drake).
Through Wolfman’s work above, he became an immediate hit and legend amongst fans worldwide.
